Songs in the Night: Singing in the midst of COVID-19, SONG #1

“Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night…?” –Job 35:10

“The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me — a prayer to the God of my life.” –Psalm 42:8

Dear family and friends,

My fiancee, Kiara, and I got engaged right before COVID-19 hit. Engaged on a Saturday, by Wednesday of the next week, we were making decisions with our church to love our neighbors, stay safe, and stay home. Now, from our separate houses, we are strengthened by our great God who “gives songs in the night.” We are crying out for Him to give us songs of joy in these days of trial.

In this time, we want to invite you to sing with us. We hope to be writing and/or finalizing 10 songs while quarantined in the month of April – by God’s grace.

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, we pray that these songs might strengthen you and fill your heart with joy.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ, we want to encourage you to trust in Him in this time. Jesus is the Savior of the world. That means that He offers spiritual safety, both in this life and in the life to come. And He offers that safety to everyone – men, women, children, all races, the smart and the simple, the rich and the poor. He calls all sinners to repent and believe in His sacrificial death and resurrection. And I can assure you that this is the most blessed, loving, life-changing invitation!

The songs we hope to create in this month will tell you more about the story of Jesus. It is what the Bible calls “good news,” because it is deeply good news. And don’t we need some good news in these days?

Will you sing with us?

Here is Song #1, “My Song is Love Unknown,” in a PDF, and in Kiara’s recording on Youtube:

We love you all, and we pray we will see you face-to-face again soon!

For the glory of Christ,

-Sam and Kiara
