“But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.” (Mark 14:28)
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” (2 Peter 1:19)
I believe the “day star arising in our hearts” is a reference to Christ – spoken of similarly in Revelation 22:16: “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”
The takeaway is:
Jesus will be our BRIGHT and MORNING STAR, like the North Star, leading us forward in life – when we have “taken heed to the more sure word of prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19). In which case the day dawns – relating to guidance in our life – and Christ the day star arises in our hearts.
Then, going back to Mark 14:28, Christ says, “after I am risen, I will GO BEFORE YOU into Galilee.”
Whatever or wherever situation our Galilee might be, Christ promises to “go before us” after that He is risen. When faith rises in our hearts, we lay hold on Christ more, and this comes through the Word.
The result: Christ is by our side, “going before us,” guiding us, into our spiritual Galilee.
